KKTCELL to Select
Smartface Platform for ODP Publishing
15 January 2007 – KKTCELL (Kuzey Kıbrıs
Turkcell), the mobile operator of Northern Cyprus,
selects Smartface Platform to provide easy access to
operator services and content.
"Porttakal", the branded on-device portal of KKTCELL
provides one-click access to operator services and
premium mobile content such as videos, ring tones, wall
papers and news.
Provided for Symbian S60 and J2ME compatible mobile
devices, "Porttakal" is downloaded to subscribers
handset over-the-air, and launched through a quick link
in handset's main menu. Benefiting the Smartface
Platform's extended synchronization capabilities, when
initially downloaded to the handset, "Porttakal" is
updated automatically over-the-air and refresh both the
user interface and the premium content it includes.
By deploying Smartface Platform, KKTCELL will be able to
extend the usability of its operator services by
utilizing the on-device portals, which is the most
convenient access channel for many of the subscribers.

make our operator services more user-friendly and thus
to have considerable increase in VAS Revenues. It is an
excellent convenience for subscribers to find an
operator service at the time they need it, via an
interactive menu in the device. Also Porttakal will be a
new sales channel for our product and services, and we
will also be able to communicate with each of our
subscribers directly via Porttakal. The handset itself
is becoming an interactive medium that mobile operators
